We have been using in our washing machine now for a few weeks. It will discolor darks, but does an awesome job on mildew laden shower curtain etc!!! Must add soap with it.
That is strange…I have used it on darks, lights and whites with no discoloration at all. Again I only use one at a time.
Just 4-5 tabs with no clothes to clear the mildew odor in the machine.
With shower curtains (white) we use 2 with laundry soap

I have used 32oz with one tab solution added to navy sheets in washer large load extra water and the sheets discoloured.
Looked tie dyed!

Hi there! Apologies for the delayed reply.
We have posts on these topics – Please see this link for directions for treating the dishwasher:

The tricky part can be figuring out how much water your washing machine uses, but so long as you are not doing these stronger treatment with clothing, even a lower or higher concentration will be effective, particularly if the treatment is repeated regularly.
And a quick reminder that ClO2 will discolor *organic* fabrics such as cotton, but does not discolor synthetic materials. Although I personally like to throw in one tablet when I am washing towels for thorough odor removal.
Warm Regards!

If your goal is to clean the machine itself, I would recommend running it without any clothing. Please see these two links for further directions:

Very sorry to hear about your tie dyed sheets!

So it is okay to mix chlorine dioxide with soap, I thought I read in Jim Humble’s book that the chlorine dioxide deactivates with soap or soap residue. How about mixing the tablets with essential oils
It is highly likely that the ClO2 will destroy the scent. You are welcome to give it a try, and we would be very interested in hear about how it goes, but it is very likely any scent will be eliminated, especially if it is stored and not used right away.
Warm Regards,
KT

I just put one tablet in both the dishwasher per washing and Washing Machine…seems to work great.
