Q:

Using CL02 in a steam mop
Resolved

I clean houses for a living and I use a steam mop to clean all the floors. Can I use the CL02 for my water source or does it effect the effectiveness due to the high heat.

Also can you add a drop or two of essential oils when using as a disinfectant.

Hi there!

ClO2 is not affected by heat. We recommend using ClO2 in carpet cleaning machines, just be sure to spot test to ensure colorfastness first – it can discolor organic fabrics, but not synthetic fabrics. A steam mop would be a very similar application.
For General Treatment: 500 to 1000 PPM
For Pet Urine Treatment: 2000 to 3000 PPM
We do not recommend using with essential oils, as it is very likely that the ClO2 will break down any scent. But you are welcome to try, and we would be interested to hear back about how it goes! There is not chemical interaction to be concerned about, just the possibility that you may loose the scent itself.

Warm Regards,

So I have not tried it with essential oils but I did add it to a method bathroom cleaner and yes it did take away some of the mint smell in the cleaner but not all of it. I am still going to try it with essential oils to see. Thank you for the reply!
