Q:

Odor removal from Laundry
Resolved

Does anyone know if I can use CLO2 to remove “dog smell” from old towels. Said towels are used exclusively on my pack of 5 long-coated dogs. The towels are washed frequently, sometimes with Vinegar, but over time they have retained an odor– not the most pleasant odor. We’d like to remove it.
Thanks in advance!

Hey there! Yes, Safrax can help remove unwanted pet odors.
First, please be aware that if the blankets are made of organic fibers, such as cotton, washing them with Safrax may remove some of the color. If they are synthetic, this will not happen.
For laundry, you can use up to 60 PPM. But you will need to figure out the capacity of your washing machine in order to calculate for this concentration. If you’re not sure, we have some guidelines for this included in this facebook post here: https://www.facebook.com/safrax.chlorine.dioxide/posts/pfbid02yndweR72upPVqcL7QxpmFsGRGHi6UKZgkGeKSwsfafxcCKW9qApfZPjAW8GkU7Jbl
Or you can try with 5 tablets and see if that is enough to remove the smell if you don’t want to bother with calculations!
I would recommend washing the towels alone during this treatment. This will also help remove any biofilm that may be in your washing machine! Two birds with one stone.

Warm Regards,

I just had a litter of puppies and I washed their blankets in hot water with bleach and 1 tablet and they come out smelling clean.
