Q:

Mold in walls
Resolved

Is it nessesary to open up the walls or drill holes in walls to allow product to penetrate for mold removal or will the product automatically get into the walls? Walls are made of drywall with wood framing. Thanks.

Hi Reb,

Very good question!
ClO2 gas will penetrate the porous surfaces of drywall and wood.
The one time that it may not be able to penetrate as deeply is if the wall is painted with a waterproof paint, as this would create moisture and vapor barrier, that may limit the ability of the ClO2 gas to penetrate as deeply. If this is the case, and you know there is mold behind the wall, then drilling at least two small holes would allow the gas access.

Warm regards,
